Ingredients For the tikki • 1 cup soaked moong dal (4–5 hrs) • 1 tsp grated ginger • 1 green chilli (optional) • 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander • 1/2 tsp cumin powder • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder • 1/2 tsp garam masala • 1/2 tsp chaat masala • Salt to taste • 1–2 tbsp besan or rice flour (for binding) • 1 tsp lemon juice For assembling • Bread slices • Butter or ghee • Green chutney • Cucumber + tomato slices • Optional cheese slice Method 1. Grind dal Drain soaked moong dal and grind coarsely. Keep texture slightly grainy. 2. Mix Add ginger, chilli, spices, salt, lemon juice, coriander and besan. Mix well. 3. Cook tikkis on a griller Shape flat tikkis and grill untill golden and crisp on both sides. 4. Assemble Butter bread → spread chutney → place tikki → add cucumber & tomato → cheese if using → close. 5. Grill the sandwiches until crisp and golden.
